Application Of Titanium in Pharmaceutical Industry

1. Vitamin B1 production

In China, the hydrogen chloride conversion method is used to produce vitamin B1, and the finished product is dried by cyclone and separated by two cyclones. Its medium is thiamine hydrochloride, PH value is 2.5, temperature is 110 ℃, corrosion is very strong. The original drying device is made of stainless steel, and the inner wall will be corroded and perforated after more than a year of use, and seriously contaminating drugs.

After titanium spiral feeder, cyclone separator, vortex body, hopper and discharge pipe and tailpipe titanium lining, the production pass rate of vitamin B1 increased from 95% to 100%, and the equipment has been used for more than 7 years without corrosion, and the cost of titanium can be recovered in 3 months.

 

2. Vitamin C production

Vitamin C is made from sorbitol, fermented by acetobacter melanomyces to sorbitose, and then fermented by Pseudomonas to produce low-concentration gulonic acid, which is concentrated and converted by hydrogen chloride.

Titanium is very resistant to corrosion in high temperature gulonic acid. In the production process of this product, titanium tube heat exchanger, titanium DHC 500 disc settling automatic slagging centrifuge and TC4 casting impeller are used, and no corrosion has been found for many years.

 

3. Antibiotic production

Chloramphenicol (an antibiotic) chemical synthesis of the main raw material is methyl dichloroacetate, containing about 2% of chlorene, trichloroethylene, which if the distillation process using steel equipment, prone to serious corrosion, titanium equipment has been intact.

 

4. Narcotic production

Procaine hydrochloride used in local anesthesia, its production of p-nitrotoluene as raw material, in the oxidation of p-nitrobenzoic acid, acetic acid washing, mother liquor recovery of the entire production process there are strong corrosion, so the production equipment uses titanium steel composite plate inner tube, titanium bubble tube, glacial acetic acid circulation condenser and vapor liquid separator, so as to solve the corrosion problem.
